We value the skills, experience, and dedication of those who have served in the Armed Forces. If you’re a service leaver, we offer tailored support throughout your transition into policing:

  • Dedicated Military Recruitment Officer – You’ll have a dedicated point of contact during the recruitment process to guide and support you every step of the way.
  • Buddy Scheme – Once employed, you’ll be offered the opportunity to connect with a colleague who has already transitioned from military to police. They’ll be available for advice, support, and guidance as part of our Buddy Scheme.
  • Armed Forces Covenant Commitment – We proudly uphold the Armed Forces Covenant, ensuring that those who serve or have served and their families are treated fairly and with respect in the communities they protect.
  • Armed Forces Forum – Join a vibrant community of veterans, reservists, adult cadet leaders, and service family members. The forum meets regularly to discuss challenges faced by the armed forces community, share experiences and support and work together to improve conditions within the force and the wider community.

We are proud to be fully committed to the Armed Forces Covenant and holders of the Gold Award Status under the Employer Recognition Scheme.

  • Opportunities for development and progression within force
  • An abundance of support networks such as Wellbeing Support Champions, Dyslexia support, LGBT+, Inclusion Matters and many, many more
