Transfer to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary
Transferring to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is a structured process designed to ensure a smooth transition for experienced officers.
Once you submit your application, it is first reviewed to confirm you meet the eligibility criteria before being progressed for shortlisting. Successful candidates at this stage are invited to interview, and those who pass will receive a conditional offer subject to pre‑employment checks, including Right to Work verification, references, vetting, medical assessment, the Job‑Related Fitness Test, and any required qualifications.
After all checks are cleared and a start date is agreed, transferees begin their journey with a five‑day induction course, providing a warm welcome to the force and addressing any training gaps before moving into their posting location.
To be eligible, applicants must be serving Home Office police officers who have completed their probation and hold a full driving licence, demonstrate strong attendance, pass vetting and fitness requirements, have no outstanding integrity issues, meet national BMI standards, and have lived in the UK for the three years prior to applying.
Former Home Office officers may also apply as rejoiners. Membership of the BNP or similar organisations is not permitted, and all applicants must uphold the values and behaviours expected of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
