Training
We offer an exceptional standard of the most modern training and support as you put those skills into practice, pursuing criminals and putting victims first. You will learn a lot of your craft on the job, making the most of the skills you already bring and what you have learned.
All the training and equipment is in place for you to excel and to provide the best service to victims, the community and your colleagues. This will get you ready to be out in the community fighting crime and delivering exceptional local policing as part of the team.
Our vision
Every member of our force, whether they are a warranted officer, police staff member, volunteer, special or cadet, is pivotal to achieving our vision of making Hampshire and the Isle of Wight safe for everyone. This is a shared responsibility, driven by our strong ambition to relentlessly pursue criminals, to put victims first and to deliver exceptional local policing.
The service we provide to our communities must be visible, connected and trusted, achieved through listening to what our communities are telling us and helping to solve their problems.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary recognises that being representative of all the communities we serve will help us to deliver a more effective operational policing service. We therefore welcome and encourage applications from people from all backgrounds.
Rewards and support
You do not work for the police you join the police – you are part of the team, you will be part of the family and you are recognised for the person you are, plus you have pride in knowing you are continuing to serve.
We offer support via our dedicated Armed Forces Forum and specially trained Armed Forces Champions from the moment you enquire, through your joining process and into your career.
We are proud to be fully committed to the Armed Forces Covenant and holders of Gold Award status under the Employer Recognition Scheme. You can transfer your Military pension into a new police pension if you choose to – this has several long-term benefits and works for you until retirement arrives
