PCSO Salary and Benefits

You will join us on Scale 4 (£26,106 to £28,653 per annum). You’ll also get additional weekend enhancement and shift allowance payments of potentially around £4800 per annum (depending on your shift pattern). This is payable after the initial training period.

You will have 24 days of annual leave holiday per year. 

We aim to capture a broad spectrum of the community for this role and understand that home life can be busy, so we take into consideration all flexible working pattern requests with each one being considered on a case by case basis.

Any flexible working agreement will only come into effect after the first 15 weeks initial training.

If your interview was successful, you will then receive a conditional offer of employment from us, with all the details of the role being offered to you. Your letter will contain links and instructions to initiate your pre-employment checks.

These checks will include:

  • Reference form asking for 5 years of employment history
  • Police vetting, including biometrics
  • Medical and ryesight form
  • Job related fitness test (Bleep test to level 5.4)
  • Evidence of Level 2 qualifications in English and maths if applicable (see eligibility for further information)
  • Posting preference form

Currently, we are looking for candidates who are able to work in most areas of Hampshire and the isle of Wight.

Some of the checks we complete can be lengthy, especially in relation to the police vetting process, so we ask you to be patient with us. We will be working hard to get you processed as quickly as possible.

As soon as you have cleared all the above checks, you will be notified and be enrolled on the next available PCSO intake.
