With over 1,000 specialist vehicles, including high-performance interceptors, armed response units, motorcycles, marine vessels, and more, our Fleet is built for resilience and rapid response.
Behind every successful operation is a vehicle that’s been expertly maintained, precisely converted, and ready to perform under pressure. That’s where our skilled Transport Team comes in — a dedicated workforce of over 40 professionals based across four modern workshops.



Technician Roles — Where Every Day is Different
As a Police Vehicle Technician, no two days are ever the same. You’ll be servicing and maintaining high-demand vehicles used in critical operations — often running 24/7 and subject to extreme driving conditions, including pursuit speeds of up to 150mph.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Servicing and maintaining a wide range of emergency vehicles
- Commissioning and decommissioning vehicles for frontline use
- Ensuring complex vehicle conversions meet operational requirements
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out urgent repairs to keep officers mobile

Stores Technicians – The Engine Room of Logistics
Located at two of our key sites, our Stores Technicians ensure parts and equipment are always where they’re needed. You’ll work closely with technicians and supervisors to:
- Order and manage stock efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory using our advanced Transport Management System
- Keep the supply chain running smoothly to support frontline readiness
Your attention to detail and organisational skills will help ensure the operational capability of one of the UK’s most diverse police fleets.
Transport Admin – The Hub of Operations
Based at our Winchester headquarters, our Transport Administrators are the go-to team for:
- Managing vehicle acquisitions and disposals
- Coordinating fuel usage and incident reports
- Handling insurance, tax, and registration processes
You’ll work at the heart of the operation, ensuring the flow of information and the accuracy of data that supports decision-making across the Fleet.
